Interview | Advertising needs to become part of pop culture again. Communication specialist and educator Carl W. Jones, in front of "Capital" Bulgaria

Carl  was interviewed earlier this year in Bulgaria at their advertising festival FARA and was asked interesting questions regarding A.I. and the popularity of advertising as a career for young people, below are some of his responses.

Do you think that with AI, the advertising industry will eventually consist of prompt writing specialists in various fields of communications?

Probably yes. You can now write a prompt for the production of a film. Writing prompts will become a talent. And even if you don't know how to write, you can write a prompt that the model can create for you. I imagine that eventually there will be technologies that can read our minds and we won't even have to write. If you have the visualization in your head, you will have a sensor that will realize it.

Is the advertising industry sexy for young people?
No, because in English-speaking countries we don't have TV productions that talk about advertising. We used to have series like Mad Men, Bewitched and Absolutely Fabulous. Now all reality shows are about fashion, at least here, and students want to be in the fashion industry. The advertising industry needs a popular TV production that will make the profession sexy again and become part of pop culture. We need young advertising icons who will be idolized by the young audience.

Don't influencers play a similar role?
Yes, but this is just one type of advertising through social networks. They are just part of the advertising campaign; they are not the advertising campaign itself.
